Intercultural competence, acknowledged as the key component of foreign language studies, increases the need to adapt teaching methods and materials to raise learners’ cultural awareness. Video sharing culture, which has become popular in our society, can be successfully used in the ELT classroom for developing language learners’ intercultural competence. Video telling is video + storytelling for the YouTube generation. It is about deconstructing a video before you show it so students are led step by ELT step through the theme and stages of the clip. This method is an integrated approach to language and culture training. Intercultural competence skills may benefit from prediction and discussion of the multimedia content. Video telling is one of the methods which help students learn to notice, analyze, and explain the differences between the target culture and their home culture, and take into account multiple points of view.
